Frame 1: In this establishing shot we see a messy room. This gives us the impression that the main character is lazy, untidy and maybe a slacker. Also messiness links with youth, so it associates the scene with the teen genre.
Frame 2: This shot shows what would seem like the main character with a look of euphoria on his face. The shot is focused in on him, with the background blurry, which suggests that he will be the focus of the film. The expression on his face suggests that he is doing something illicit.
Frame 3: The over the shoulder shot focused on the television shows where he is looking and what his attention is focused on. The teen genre is further emphasized here due to the messiness around the room once again.
Frame 4: The white sock in this show represents the purity, youth and innocence of the young man, however this is juxtaposed within the next shot.
Frame 5: A new character is introduced within this frame with the use of a wide shot. The character appears to be the mother of the main character. We see the boy trying to hide what he is doing which suggests the female character holds some authority or that he is embarrassed.
Frame 6: A pillow is used to hide what the boy is doing. The mother seems unaware at this point in time.
Frame 7: The two shot is used here to show the mother giving the boy a kiss.
